Filming in Sidney
The Town welcomes filming in our community and recognizes the economic, cultural and social benefits that the film industry brings to our residents and businesses.
Sidney offers a variety of beautiful seaside locations, stunning ocean and island vistas, and small town charm to complement your next production.
The Town is available to provide guidance, coordination, and support to your location scout and production crew. For more information about filming in the Town of Sidney, please contact the Engineering Department by phone at 250-656-4502 or by email.
Please note: if you wish to fly a UAV for filming, it is important that you understand the Town's close proximity to the Victoria International Airport and Canada's aircraft regulations. Transport Canada regulates the use of all aircraft, manned and unmanned, to keep the public and our airspace safe. There are new regulations to address the growing popularity of UAVs, including obtaining a Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC).
