Information for Existing Businesses
The Town of Sidney values each and every business that operates in our unique corner of the world. Our goal is to be as welcoming as possible, with streamlined processes for business owners to keep their information up to date and services running smoothly.
Change of Information
As your business grows and evolves, please keep us up to date on any changes that are relevant to your business licence. Relevant changes include a change in ownership, location, business name, or the size/scale of your operation (for example, the number of children for a daycare, or the number of seats in a cafe/restaurant). There is no fee to update your account. Simply submit your Change of Information form to the Town, and we will update your information and issue a new business licence, if required.
For businesses that were licensed in the previous year, the Town of Sidney mails out Renewal Invoices in early December for the following calendar year. Fees are due and payable by January 1st of each year. The Town accepts debit, cash, cheque, or credit card; or, you can pay online using MySidney here.
Please note: in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting impact on local businesses, Sidney Council passed a resolution to waive Town of Sidney Business Licence Fees for existing and new businesses for the 2021 calendar year, provided that businesses update their contact information with the Town.
Existing businesses must complete the Town's General Information and Contact Update Form, after which the Town will send you your 2021 Business Licence.
