Projects & Initiatives

Throughout the year, Sidney staff and council work hard on a number of key initiatives and projects that enhance the overall vibrancy and quality of life in our community. In turn, these projects support local businesses by attracting a broad demographic of people who come to Sidney to work, live, shop and play.

With a diverse selection of shops, services and places to dine, Sidney's business clusters are enhanced by beautiful plantings and seasonal decorations that add to the seaside charm of our town. Sidney's community spirit is evident everywhere you look!

New amenities like the graffiti-free Skatepark Facility further diversify the town's recreational opportunities, while the restoration of Reay Creek Pond and the Parks Master Plan provide access to green space and protect our natural surroundings. Exciting plans are underway to further enhance the downtown core, with a vision for Sidney's waterfront as a bustling, accessible hub for business and play. A new Community Safety Building will support the town's active growth and development now and into the future.
