Get Involved!

Thank you to everyone who got involved in this project and gave their ideas and comments on the future of our downtown waterfront area. The final Downtown Waterfront Vision plan was presented to the Committee of the Whole on Monday, May 1st and adopted by Council on May 8, 2017.

The following events were held:

Open House on Draft Final Downtown Waterfront Vision Plan

We hosted a public Open House on April 4, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Town Hall. Thank you to everyone who attended and gave their comments on the draft plan.  The boards from the event are available here.

Ideas Gallery

We hosted an Ideas Gallery in the Pier Hotel on November 2, 2016 between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. It was a great event, with approximately 60 people attending to provide feedback, input, and comments on the waterfront planning principles they feel should guide the project and vote on their favourite ideas displayed on the six conceptual designs created at the Stakeholder Workshop on September 23. Thank-you to all those who stopped by to discuss the future of our beautiful waterfront, and to those who completed the survey online afterwards. The boards from the event are available for viewing here.

Ideas Fair

We hosted an Ideas Fair at Beacon Park on Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm to gather ideas for the downtown waterfront area from the community.

Sidney Street Market

We had a pop-up booth for the Downtown Streetscape and Urban Design Standards project at the Sidney Street Market on Thursday, August 11, 2016. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth.

Stakeholder Workshop

We had a stakeholder workshop on September 23, 2016 for property owners, residents, business owners, and community members in the study area to discuss ideas received by that point and generate possible scenarios for the downtown waterfront.
