As public engagement is central to the local area planning process, the Town worked to gather input from those who live, work, or visit the area. A variety of in-person and online opportunities were available for those who wished to provide feedback and share their questions, concerns, and ideas.
We hosted an Ideas Fair near the corner of McDonald Park Road and Mills Road West on September 28, 2016 from 11 am to 2 pm to gather ideas for the future of the West Side from the community. Approximately 70 people attended from the residential and commercial/industrial areas. Thank you to all those who stopped by to enjoy the great food and participate in the event. Boards from the event can be viewed here.
Stakeholder's Charette Workshop
The next event to occur for this project was the Stakeholder's Charette Workshop in early November, 2016.
An Ideas Gallery was held on January 25, 2017 at the Mary Winspear Centre from 11am to 2pm to get feedback on ideas generated at the stakeholder workshop. Approximately 50 people attended the event and gave their comments on three different concepts for land use and transportation changes in the project area. Boards from the event can be viewed here.
Draft Plan Open House
We hosted a public open house on the draft plan on July 25, 2017, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Mary Winspear Centre. Comments were accepted until August 8, 2017.
