The 2010 Olympic Torch Relay, presented by Coca-Cola and RBC, is a 45,000 kilometer journey across Canada intended to build excitement for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The relay will visit over 1,000 communities and places of interest during its run across Canada that will span over 100 days.
After arriving in Victoria on the morning of October 30th, the Olympic Torch arrived in Sidney at around 2:00 p.m. The Town of Sidney organizing committee put together an exciting plan of celebrations for the day which began at 11:30 a.m. at the Mary Winspear Centre and continued on throughout the community. Numerous citizens came out to cheer on the Torchbearers and to welcome the Olympic Torch on its first day!
