Make a Plan

Emergency plans are for everyone. Individuals, families, institutions, businesses and communities... everyone should know what they will do in an emergency.

Having a plan, and practicing it, is an important step in preparing for a disaster.

Most aspects of emergency plans are straight-forward. They cover the actions you will take during an emergency, identify safe muster areas, and list emergency contacts.

However, take care to account for your specific needs in making the plan. It should also make alternative plans for common situations, for example, if an emergency happens while you are at school, at work, or out of town.

Emergency plans should be made for families, businesses and for communities.
