Peninsula Fire Departments Grade Five Expo

Through a combination of time, co-ordination, enthusiasm and effort on the part of all those involved, the three Peninsula Fire Departments as well as the Saanich Fire Department, gathered together and hosted the Fifth Annual Fire Expo. The event was held at the Central Saanich Fire Hall. The central location of the hall itself and the availability of multiple locations for the individual stations makes it a great venue for this program. We would like to thank Central Saanich for the use of their Fire Hall once again. This fire prevention and safety event focuses on students at the grade five levels. The program incorporates everything from short discussions to hands on learning and takes a serious look at the dangers of fire as well as teaching the children fire prevention. It was attended by twenty-eight grade five classes in total this year. The average class size was about thirty children. The program received great reviews from the students and teachers as well as the parents that were able to attend. This annual event has become a huge success for all of those involved.
