Marilyn Loveless was first elected as a Town of Sidney Councillor in 1998 and is currently in her fourth term. She previously served as a Trustee/Chair/Vice Chair for School District #63. Marilyn has also been a member of the National Seniors Council, Director of BC School Sports and a Woman of Distinction Award nominee. She is a Victoria Sports Hall of Fame inductee and a recipient of the Governor Generals Medal for Community Service.

When Sidney Council decided to join the CRD Arts Committee, Marilyn felt it was one of the best decisions she had participated in during her quarter century of elected community service. The value seen in the return on this investment is vast both by a monetary measure and a community building measure. Through this participation, Sidney has received grants to the Mary Winspear/Charlie White Theatre, Peninsula Players, Sidney Concert Society and the Community Arts Council.

Married to Chuck Loveless for 36 years, Marilyn has five sons and five grandsons. Both Marilyn and Chuck were born and raised on the Saanich Peninsula. Marilyn was in the first graduating class of Claremont School and attended UVIC, following this she graduated from UBC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education.
