Summer 2020 Events in Sidney

It is with considerable regret that the Town of Sidney’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) advised Sidney event organizers today to cancel or postpone events, both indoor and outdoor, that involve public gatherings scheduled for the summer of 2020. Consequently, the Town of Sidney has made the difficult decision to cancel the 21st season of the Sidney Street Market.

Sidney Approves 2020 Financial Plan

Sidney Council has approved a Financial Plan for 2020 that results in a modest municipal tax impact of 1.79% for existing properties. The net impact of the tax increase on the average residential property is about $27 for the year, or $2.26 a month.
Province Announces Changes to Property Tax Deferment Process

The British Columbia Government has announced changes to the property tax deferment process. Starting in May 2020, eligible British Columbians can apply online to defer their property taxes. Additionally, property owners can choose to auto-renew their deferment application.
