Independent Evaluation of the Gateway Proposal

At a meeting on February 22, 2016, Town Council passed a resolution requesting Omicron, the proponent of the proposed Sidney Gateway project, to undertake an independent evaluation of the potential implications of the proposal on Sidney’s downtown. Council believes it is important to understand the effects and impacts the development may have on the future of Sidney’s downtown core.

Although an official development application has not yet been submitted to the Town of Sidney, Town staff have met with representatives of Omicron, and they have agreed to the independent evaluation, and at no cost to the Town.  It is anticipated that the results of the study will be completed and presented to the Town as part of the Rezoning Amendment application package.
