Mayor's Statement on the Paris Attacks

On behalf of Sidney's Mayor and Council and our entire community, I express our most heartfelt sympathies and support to the citizens of France after the horrific acts of terrorism imposed on the city of Paris and its people. To the victims and families directly impacted, words cannot express the sorrow we are all feeling. We may be a small community, but the residents of Sidney have always come together to help and support those in their time of need and I am sure that we will once again assist the people of Paris in any way we can. Be assured that, the cowardly acts of those who would harm innocent and unarmed people has impacted the entire world and will not be without consequences.

In honour of the lives lost and in a show of solidarity, flags will be lowered to half mast and the Town Hall will be lit with the colours of the French Flag. As well, Town Crier, Kenny Podmore will deliver a proclamation prior to the Committee of the Whole Meeting on Monday, November 16th, 2015
