Town of Sidney Ready to Sell Prime Downtown Land

Fire Hall Development Site

Sidney, B.C.; On November 15th, 2017, the Town of Sidney released a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI) for the disposition of the current Fire Hall site located at 9837 Third Street and adjoining surface parking lot at 9821 Third Street in downtown Sidney. Full details of the submission process are available on the Town’s website at www.sidney.ca

The Fire Hall site and adjoining parking lot combined are approximately 42,500 square feet in area.  The properties are both zoned C1 (Downtown Commercial), which permits mixed-use commercial (ground floor) / residential developments of potentially between four and six stories in height.

Sale proceeds from this site will be allocated to the new Community Safety Building (CSB), which is currently under construction south of the Mary Winspear Centre.  Council’s decision to sell both sites is based on the desire to minimize the borrowing costs associated with the CSB.

Submissions must be in writing and will be received until 4:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time, on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Submissions may be delivered in person to the Administration Department at the Town of Sidney Municipal Hall at 2440 Sidney Avenue or electronically by email to Mr. Randy Humble, Chief Administrative Officer, at the address: admin@sidney.ca.
