The greatest and most important public participation opportunity citizens have in government is during the municipal election. Citizens vote for who they want to represent them and make decisions on their behalf for the betterment of the community.
The Administration Department is responsible for conducting the Local Government Elections, held every four years, for the offices of Mayor (1), Councillor (6) and School Trustee (1). The next local government election will be held on the Saturday October 20, 2018.
If you are interested in running for office, Nomination Packages will be available for pick up at Town Hall or online on Friday, July 27, 2018. Individuals interested in running for School Trustee (School District No. 63) can obtain more information from the Ministry of Education.
