The Town of Sidney is pleased to have a vibrant and active social community. There are numerous annual events that take place in Sidney.

One of the most longstanding active community organizations is the Peninsula Celebrations Society. This Society is a non profit organization, comprising of many dedicated volunteers, promoting and organizing events for over 30 years on the Saanich Peninsula. The Town of Sidney is a proud sponsor, providing annual grant funding, to support these popular events.

2011 COMMUNITY EVENTS CALENDAR

June 2 - Aug 25	Sidney Summer Street Markets
	5:30 - 8:30 pm, Beacon Avenue
	Stroll down Beacon Avenue on Thursday evenings and enjoy great food, arts and crafts, music and more.

June 30 - July 3	Sidney / Canada Days and Parade
	Organizers: Peninsula Celebrations Society
July - September (TBA)	Summer Sounds Concert Series

October (TBA)	Sidney Fine Arts Show
	A world-class juried art show featuring work by artists primarily from around BC.
	Peninsula ArtSea Festival
	In conjuction with the Fine Arts Show, there will be muscial
	and literary events happening about the Town.

November 11	Remembrance Day Parade & Ceremony
	10:15 am, Mary Winspear Centre   10:45 am, Town Hall
	Parade begins at Mary Winspear Centre and marches to the War Memorial on the front lawn of the Town Hall for service and wreath laying.
December 3	Sidney Sparkles Santa Parade / Sailpast

December 17	Fire Department Food Drive
	Volunteers will be driving through neighborhoods in Fire trucks collecting food door-to-door for the Sidney Lion's Food Bank.  Food and money donations can also be dropped off at the Fire Hall anytime after Dec. 1st Please direct inquiries to Fire Hall at 656-2121
December 31	Peninsula New Year's Celebration
