The Town of Sidney is pleased to have a vibrant and active social community. There are numerous annual events that take place in Sidney.

One of the most longstanding active community organizations is the Peninsula Celebrations Society. This Society is a non profit organization, comprising of many dedicated volunteers, promoting and organizing events for over 30 years on the Saanich Peninsula. The Town of Sidney is a proud sponsor, providing annual grant funding, to support these popular events.

	A public awareness walk and fundraiser to help provide equipment and services for the Heart Health Unit at the Royal Jubilee Hospital.

	The Town conferred "Freedom of the Town" to the Canadian Forces 443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron in June 2000 - they will be exercising this right with a  special parade and plaque dedication ceremony.

	A world-class juried art show featuring work by artists primarily from around BC.

November 11	Remembrance Day Parade & Ceremony

	Parade begins at Mary Winspear Centre and marches to the War Memorial on the front lawn of the Town Hall for service and wreath laying.
