Driver Services

The Town of Sidney offers a local Driver Services branch, located at 9884 Third Street, in the Court House building behind the Town Hall and Beacon Community Services.

 

Regular Business Hours

Due to a staffing shortage, Sidney Driver Services will be operating on reduced hours. Consider visiting another ICBC office in Victoria, available by appointment: Appointment booking (icbc.com).   If you attend the Sidney location, please note that our capacity to process transactions is reduced.  To avoid overcrowding, we are limiting the number of customers waiting in the lobby.  Be prepared for an extended wait time outside the office and dress appropriately for the weather.

Open 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
We will return to the hours below as of October 4.

9:30 am to 1:30 pm
with a 30-minute closure from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm

We strive to maintain these hours.  However, adjustments may be needed depending on staffing availability.  Any potential changes will be posted here.

 

Availability for knowledge tests will be limited and offered on a first come first serve basis.

For auto insurance transactions, please visit one of the other brokers in Sidney.

Walk-in customers only.  Appointments are not accepted.

Driver Services

  • Driver's License renewals and duplicates
  • New BC Driver's License issuance for out of province/country applicants
  • Cancellations, Prohibitions, Reinstatements
  • Knowledge testing for Passenger/Commercial Vehicle and Motorcycle Learners Licenses - Cut off for testing is 1:00 pm.
  • Road tests for seniors (twice per month) – this is the only road testing we offer
  • B.C. Identification cards
  • B.C. Services Cards – new and renewal
  • Change of address
  • Traffic Fines processing - payments or disputes
  • Driver/Rider/Commercial/Recreational Trailer towing manuals available
  • Free "L" and "N" signs for the new driver

ICBC Autoplan Broker

 

We are currently not processing any autoplan transactions.  Please visit one of the other brokers in Sidney.
