On New Year's Day, January 1st, 2017, Mayor Steve Price and Sidney Town Council hosted an "Afternoon Tea" at the Mary Winspear Centre to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Sidney's reincorporation as "The Town of Sidney". The event was well attended by 300 residents and guests. Here's an overview of the afternoon.

 Magician Murray Hatfield entertains the crowd.    Mayor Price introduces Barry Freeman, son of Arthur Freeman, Mayor at the time of incorporation as a Town.    Panorama Recreation was on hand with activities for the kids.
