Arts & Culture

Whether it's browsing through one of our many art galleries, exploring a historical museum or enjoying a night at the theatre, Sidney offers an abundance of arts and cultural attractions.

Our main street, Beacon Avenue, is home to stunning three-dimensional murals and life-like bronzed statues. Our marine oriented community is host to a variety of activities, attractions and entertainment that will entice any taste and desire.

Annual events include:  Sidney Fine Art Show and ArtSea Festival; Thursday Night Summer Street Markets; Artisans Show & Sale; Book Fair; Sidney/Canada Day celebrations; and Sidney Sparkles Santa Parade and Lighted Sailpast.

The Town also contributes to the CRD Arts Development Service, which provides funding to local arts organizations including the Canadian Light Music (Palm Court), the ArtSea (Community Arts Council of the Saanich Peninsula), the Sidney and Peninsula Literary Festival, the Victoria Gilbert & Sullivan Society and the Pacific Opera with a local ‘Opera Bus’ for operagoers coming from the Saanich Peninsula.
