Parks Overview

The Parks Department is responsible for the maintenance of 28 parks in the Town, as well as 17 beach accesses, the Sidney Waterfront Walkway, park trails, and many neighbourhood pedestrian paths. The beautiful flower planters and hanging baskets that adorn Sidney streets and sidewalks are also tended to by our Parks Staff.

Parks Use & Bookings

The Parks Department assists in the coordination of special events in Town parks. If you are interested in holding a public or private event in one of our parks, please complete an application form and forward it to the Parks Department. Depending on the type of event and location, there may be an application fee and damage deposit. For more information, please visit our Parks Use & Bookings page.

Trees

The Parks Department enforces Sidney's Tree Preservation Bylaw and makes recommendations on boulevard trees and trees on private property. For more information about trees in Sidney, please visit our Trees page.

Parks Planning

The Town's Parks Master Plan (approved by Council on January 22, 2018) sets out a vision for all of Sidney’s parks, including a list of future projects for consideration.
