Sidney’s third annual Tree Appreciation Day is coming up on Saturday, September 24, 2022! Want to get involved? Here's how!

Tree Appreciation Giveaway
**First Come First Serve**
Pick up from Town Hall September 20 - 23, 2022

What better way to celebrate Tree Appreciation Day than by planting a tree! This year, registration for a tree is not required. You can come by Sidney Town Hall during the week of September 20 - 23 from to pick up your tree. The following trees seedlings and saplings are available (1 per household, while supplies last):

  • Douglas Fir
  • Pacific Crabapple
  • Garry Oak
  • Maple
  • Red Alder

If you are unable to pick up your tree from Town Hall during the week of September 20 - 23, leftover trees will be available for pickup at the Tree Appreciation Day planting event on September 24 from 10 am - 1 pm at Peter Grant Park.


Tree Planting in Peter Grant Park

The Greater Victoria Green Team, in partnership with the Town of Sidney, is hosting a tree planting event in Peter Grant Park to celebrate Tree Appreciation Day. This year, we will be planting the unclaimed Douglas Fir saplings from last year's tree giveaway in Peter Grant Park along KEL'SET (Reay Creek)!

If you would like to participate in the tree planting process, visit the Greater Victoria Green Team’s event page to register for the event. The Greater Victoria Green Team will provide all the necessary tools as well as packaged refreshments.
