Critical Supply Chain Rest Stop
Update - Temporary Supply Chain Rest Stop will be reverting back to public parking on Friday, May 29, 2020.
Rest Stop Reverting Back to Public Parking Lot
As of Friday, May 29, 2020, the western section of the Town’s parking lot that was temporarily repurposed as a supply chain rest stop will be reverting back to parking for downtown employees and the public.
As other services that support the regional supply chain have begun to reopen, the demand for the Town’s temporary Critical Supply Chain Rest Stop has decreased. At the same time, with local businesses reopening, parking demand for downtown employees and the public is increasing. After consultation with the BC Trucking Association, the Town has decided to close the temporary rest stop.
The Town remains grateful to the essential workers who have been maintaining the region’s supply chain during this public health emergency. We are pleased that we were able to offer this support for the past two months.
We are also grateful to the local businesses that modified their operations to support those delivering essential goods to our region, and to our community for their support and understanding while the parking lot was temporarily repurposed.
