Canada Greener Homes Grant
The Canada Greener Homes Grant is a rebate program administered by the federal government. This program is designed to offer financial support for home retrofits including energy efficiency retrofits (e.g. insulation and air sealing), thermostats, heat pumps, and solar installations up to $5,000. EnerGuide retrofit evaluations are required for the program, but these evaluations are also eligible for rebates up to $600. Any homeowner in Canada is eligible to apply, and could receive up to $5,600 in rebates.
This summer, the federal government will also launch an interest-free loan program which will provide up to $40,000 to help complete deep home retrofits. Right now, homeowners can register to receive updates when the loan initiative becomes available.
More information regarding this program will be posted here when new information becomes available.
CleanBC Better Homes
Income Qualified Program
CleanBC has now launched a funding program specifically for those with lower income designed to help qualifying residents make energy-efficient upgrades in their homes and lower their expenditure on energy. This is different than traditional rebate programs, because the funding goes directly to the contractor meaning you aren’t required to pay the full cost up front.
