Elections

The greatest and most important public participation opportunity citizens have in government is during the election.  Citizens vote for who they want to represent them and make decisions on their behalf for the betterment of the community.

Each local government in BC is responsible for  conducting its own general local elections, which are held every 4 years.  Residents in Sidney cast their vote for the office of MAYOR (1 to be elected) and COUNCILLOR (6 to be elected).  The Town, also, concurrently conducts the SCHOOL TRUSTEE election (1 to be elected) on behalf of School District No. 63.

To confirm if you are registered to vote, please check with Elections BC.

The next municipal election will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
