Mayor Steve Price
Steve Price was first elected to Sidney Council in 2008. He served two terms on Council before being elected as Mayor in 2014. In November 2017, Steve was elected the 2018 Capital Regional District (CRD) Board Chair.
Steve is a longtime Sidney resident and active community member. He and his wife, Fiona, of 35 years, have raised their three sons in Sidney. They are also proud grandparents of two grandsons.
While living in Ontario, Steve has had a diverse, interesting career. He has designed and built race cars with Canadian Stock Car Products; served as a Deputy Bailiff; worked for Air Canada’s air cargo ramp operations at Pearson International Airport; owned and operated a 220 acre farm and worked for 15 years with Vaughan Hydro Electric commission as a technician supervisor where he performed high potential testing and primary/secondary fault locating on high voltage electrical grid distribution systems. Since relocating to Sidney in 1989 he is self-employed in the field of property management.
Steve’s community service includes; the former Director and President of the Peninsula Soccer Association where he worked closely with the Town to negotiate space for the Sidney Lawn Bowling Club at Iroquois Park while preventing the pending removal of the adjoining soccer field.
He has also been a member, Director and President of the Sidney Anglers Association and assisted in the ongoing restoration of salmon habitat at Reay Creek. This club stream project is now used as a model for other restoration projects in Canada and the Sidney Anglers received an award from the federal government for their successful
Steve has also been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 37 and a member of the Army, Navy &
