Notice of Budget Meetings

Please note that the Town of Sidney will be holding meetings over the next two months to consider the Town’s 2022-2026 Financial Plan, as follows:

  • Monday, January 24, 2022 – Regular Council Meeting – Budget Presentation and Introduction
  • Monday, February 7, 2022 – Committee of the Whole Meeting – Initial Budget Consideration
  • Tuesday, February 22, 2022 – Special Council Meeting – Budget Deliberations

The above meetings will take place at the Town of Sidney Council Chambers, beginning at 6:00 p.m. With BC currently witnessing record number of new positive COVID-19 cases, in-person attendance at Council meetings is limited and requires advance registration. To register, contact the Town no later than noon on the day of the meeting by sending an email to admin@sidney.ca or by calling 250-656-1139. Meetings will be broadcast live at the Council Meeting Portal. A recording of the meeting will also be posted online for later viewing.

All persons wishing to comment on, or inquire about, the Five Year Financial Plan may do by registering to speak virtually through Zoom at the February 7th meeting, or at any regular Council meeting following introduction of the budget. In order to comment, speakers must register to speak by no later than noon on the day of the meeting by sending an email to admin@sidney.ca, or by calling 250-656-1139. Written comments on the budget may be submitted at any time to admin@sidney.ca. Background documentation will be made available on the Budget page of the Town’s website, following introduction of the budget on January 24, 2022.

Final budget deliberations are expected to take place at the Special Council Meeting on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. If not concluded that night, additional deliberations will be scheduled for a future Council Meeting.
