Storm drainage safety with upcoming snow melt
December 23, 2022
Temperatures are expected to rise on Saturday (December 24th). The accumulation of snow will begin to melt creating a risk of flooding.
Town staff have been working to clear snow, ice, and debris from the Town’s nearly 1500 catch basins, however help from community members is needed. Please clear catch basins and gutters near your home to help water runoff make it into the Town’s storm drains instead of pooling on land.
A public sandbag station at Iroquois Park is available for community members who are concerned about flooding on their property.
If a resident is experiencing flooding of their home and needs assistance, please call the Town at 250-656-1184. Emergency messages will be redirected to our duty crews, and work will be prioritized according to capacity.
