Tulista Park Sidewalk Improvements

Temporary closure of section of Tulista Park Sidewalk for improvements
Mid-June to Mid-July 2021

Day Closure of Tulista Playground: Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 7 am - 3 pm

The Town of Sidney is undertaking improvements to the walkway along the west side of Tulista Park, following Fifth Street. The concrete surface will be replaced and widened to 2.5 metres, and drainage will be installed to address frequent flooding in winter months. Several trees will have to be removed for this work; these will be replaced with trees of a more suitable species that will provide more shade once mature.

You can find additional details about the project in a staff report that was presented to Council.

Work will require closure of the sidewalk for approximately four weeks, beginning June 21. There will also be day closures of the playground and skate parks during the initial tree falling work. We ask pedestrians to consider alternate routes, such as the detour route through the park suggested below. Park users are asked to comply with any signage posted or directions given by workers on-site.

We thank you for your patience as we work towards opening this new-and-improved sidewalk later this summer.

If you have any questions about this project, please contact the Town's Engineering Department by email at engineeringservices@sidney.ca or by phone at 250-656-4502.
