Low tides and warm temperatures are causing an unpleasant odor that can be mistaken for sewage. This is the result of seaweed and algae breaking down and releasing gasses. It is an annual occurrence and smells can linger for 2-3 weeks. Water quality is tested regularly throughout the summer.

Grant In Aid

The purpose of this program is to provide financial support to non-profit organizations and community associations for services, projects, or events that contribute toward the strategic goals set out in the Town’s Strategic Plan.

The deadline for receipt of Grant In Aid applications is January 31st each year.

Applications can be emailed to finance@sidney.ca or dropped off at Town Hall at 2440 Sidney Avenue.
