Remembrance Day

On November 11th, a Remembrance Day Parade is held in Sidney. The parade begins at the Mary Winspear Centre at 10:25am running along Beacon Avenue and Second Street to the Cenotaph in front of Town Hall where a Service for the Fallen is held at 10:45am.

At 11am, there is a Moment of Silence, including a military fly past. All are welcome.

Each year, in the lead up to Remembrance Day, the Sidney Concert Band presents its annual “Salute to Our Veterans” concert at the Mary Winspear Centre.

The performance includes bagpipes, the Last Post, highland dancers, and music of the big bands. For more information, visit Sidney Business Improvement Area

The Royal Canadian Legion runs a Poppy Office with poppies, wreaths, and other Remembrance items available.

Donations to the Poppy Fund support Veterans, their families, and the community. More details on location and hours of operation to come.
