Low tides and warm temperatures are causing an unpleasant odor that can be mistaken for sewage. This is the result of seaweed and algae breaking down and releasing gasses. It is an annual occurrence and smells can linger for 2-3 weeks. Water quality is tested regularly throughout the summer.

Lochside Park

Lochside Waterfront Park is a linear park that encompasses a large section of the Sidney Waterfront Walkway, including an upper all weather paved pathway and a lower gravel pathway adjacent to the beach. The park features stunning views, garden displays, bench seating, and access to the waterfront and natural beach areas. There are parking areas along the length of the park on Lochside Drive.
