Citizen Appointments to Committees

The Town of Sidney has vacancies on the following committees and is accepting applications from residents wishing to get involved in the community by volunteering their time serving as a member on the following committees:

• Advisory Planning Commission
  APC views matters respecting community planning, development, land use, townscapes, and environmental and heritage matters.
• Board of Variance
  The Board, which is an independent body from the Town, reviews minor development variance applications that would cause a person undue hardship.
• Saanich Peninsula Accessibility Advisory Committee
  SPAAC is a joint tri-municipal committee established by the District of Central Saanich, the District of North Saanich, and the Town of Sidney that provides comment and recommendations to Saanich Peninsula local governments on policies, programs, services, built environments, infrastructure and outdoor spaces in order continue to improve the livability, inclusivity and accessibility for persons with disabilities
• Saanich Peninsula Water & Wastewater Commission
  This is a Capital Regional District Commission that oversees the delivery, quality, infrastructure, and planning of the drinking water supply for Central Saanich, North Saanich, and Sidney.
• Victoria Airport Authority – Noise Management Committee
  The Committee provides a forum for the airport, local governments, and the community to review and address aircraft noise issues and recommend ways to minimize their impact.
